The CSLC has performed in collaboration with the Coro Nacional do Teatro S. Carlos (Requiem by Verdi, Gurrelieder by Shöenbergand Faust Simphony by Franz Liszt), with the Coro Gulbenkian (Gurrelieder by Shöenberg) and with both portuguese army orchestras, Banda da Força Aérea and Banda do Exército.
The CSLC repertoire includes choral a capella music and major symphonic choral pieces such as the Requiem masses by Verdi, Mozart, Fauré, Brahms, Duruflé and Carrapatoso (world premiere), the Nelson Mass and the Mass for Saint Teresa by Haydn, the Stabat Mater and the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, the Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Mahler’s 3rd Symphony, Mendelssohn’s 2nd Symphony, The Sea Symphony by Vaughan Williams, Handel’s Messiah, the Creation and the Seasons oratórios by Haydn, the Cantata Verbum Caro and Oratoria of Popular by Nuno Corte-Real (debut of the symphonic version and world premiere, respectively), the Mass in C minor and the Vesperae Solennes de Confessore by Mozart, the October Cantata by Prokofiev (debut in Portugal), "Cantata for un silencio" by Daniel Shwetz (world premiere), cantata Verbum Caro by Nuno Corte-Real (world premiere), L'enfance du Christ by Berlioz, 9th Symphony and Overture 1812 by S. Rachmaninoff, Missa Solemnis and Mass in C major by L. V. Beethoven, Weinacht Oratory and Himelsfahrt Oratory by J.S.Bach.
The choir has participated in international festivals and contests: Cantonigròs 1994 and 2003, Florilége Vocal de Tour 2002 (4th place), Azores Choir Festival 2012, Montreux Choir Festival 2016 (Honorable Mention - Trés Bien).
The CSLC is an amateur choir and currently has close to 80 singers in its initial composition. Some of its members come from music schools such as the Conservatório Nacional, Academia de Amadores de Música and the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa. It has contributed to the dissemination of Portuguese erudite music, regularly debuting works written by Portuguese contemporary composers. It has performed as the associate choir of the CCB season 2010/2011. CSLC performance highlights include its partnership with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, since 1999.
Since 1986, the choir is directed by Jorge Carvalho Alves, as its titular conductor.
